Vakansa

Vakansa, which is based on a sharing economy solution, is a platform where premises that are empty at certain times can be rented out to other actors who want to rent the premises at those times.

Vakansa was started with the simple conviction that there are already enough buildings and premises for all actors in society. We see how buildings and premises are completely or partially empty everywhere in our cities. At the same time, many applicants are currently excluded from the premises market due to expensive rents and complicated regulations.

Before the pandemic, studies of offices were carried out to investigate how much these types of premises are actually used (If you want to know more, you can read the full report “Resource-efficient premises in Sweden”). It was concluded that offices are used as little as 10% of the time. This means that tenants today pay 100% of the rent for premises that can be empty as much as 90% of the time!

On Vakansa’s platform, you can make visible and available when buildings and premises are not used by the prospective tenant and can be shared with others. Vakansa facilitates the co-use of premises by helping with everything from contractual, VAT, insurance and administrative issues to those related to applicable laws and regulations. The aim is to achieve resource-efficient use of the existing property stock and thus reduce the need for new buildings.
