Folkbildningsforum Gasklockorna

Folkbildningsforum is a collaboration between the study associations SV Gävleborg, ABF Gästrikebygden, Studiefrämjandet Mitt.

Folkbildningsforum in Gävle is a platform that makes people grow by discovering both our own and others’ strengths, creativity and assets. The forum should inspire conversations, expressions and actions – to seek collaboration and new meetings. A rich and vibrant cultural life promotes democracy and stimulates people to acquire new knowledge and achieve new goals on their own terms.

Folkbildningsforum is a physical meeting place in Gävle. Here you can visit exhibitions, listen to a performance or a lecture, see theatre – or participate in a study circle, course or meeting. However, there is a network of four study associations, including associations, that form the backbone of the activities and a structure for coordination and operation.

Those who today run Gasklockorna’s premises (Lilla Retorten, Stora Retorten and Mätarhuset) want to make room for more people by broadening both participation and audience – which should reflect the people who live in Gävle. It should be a place characterized by accessibility for everyone.
