Exercise outdoors whenever you want
Gothenburg
Gothenburg has many outdoor gyms and a couple of obstacle courses. Everyone is welcome to exercise here and it costs nothing. Close to the machines, you can usually instructions on how to do different exercises.
Sometimes you can also join in on circuit training and ask questions to the instructor at seven of Gothenburg City's outdoor gyms. It's free, open to everyone, and no pre-registration is required.
Adventsparken:
The gym has a crossfit training position, where you can perform both static and dynamic training. You can train focus areas such as abs, arms, shoulders and legs.
Aröd:
The outdoor gym offers station training with machines, an obstacle course and a stage for individual or group outdoor exercise, as well as covered seating. The space can be used for outdoor exercise/group training, as there are large grass areas around the outdoor gym.
Askimsbadet (Askims badväg 21):
The outdoor gym consists of wooden and metal machine. Here you can train with both your body weight and the weight of the equipment. Here you can train bench press, shoulder press, sit-ups, push-ups, chins, dips and back pulls.
Backavallen (Backadalskog)
An outdoor gym with five different machines where you can train your whole body using your body weight as resistance.
Bergkristallen (Bergkristallparken):
At Bergkristallparken, there is a small outdoor gym with three machines for strength and movement training. The outdoor gym is also adapted for senior users.
Blidväders aktivitetsyta (Ovädersgatan 1):
Blidväders aktivitetsyta in Biskopsgården is a place for the joy of movement. Here, everyone can get moving – regardless of age and exercise habits. The area has an obstacle course for young people and adults, an obstacle course for children from the age of three, a climbing frame for children from the age of six, a vaulting frame, running tracks, a stretching area, a stage and a football pitch.
Dalen outdoor gym (Slottsskogen Dalen):
The outdoor gym is a so-called log gym with ten different wooden tools where you can strength train your whole body. There is also a wooden board for stretching and recovery. Tools available here: Arm swing, push-ups, shoulder press, balance swing, battle rope, chest press, dips, dips against a bar/wall, squats, deadlifts, Roman rings, back pulls, back lifts, chin-ups, sit-ups, pole and jumps.
Eriksbo (Eriksbo Fritidspark):
A small outdoor gym with three metal machines. You can do leg curls, rowing and chest press.
Exercisparken (Engelbrektsgatan 34):
The outdoor gym has five metal machines where you can train with your own body weight and challenge your coordination.
Fjärdingsparken (Blåklockegatan 14):
Here you can train with your body weight as resistance on a dozen different exercise machines. For example, chins, dips, sit-ups, repslap/battle rope, balance track and jumping jacks.
Flatås park (Svängrumsgatan 87):
Outdoor gym with metal machines where you use your body weight as resistance. You can exercise your whole body here.
Färjenäsparken:
Färjenäsparken’s outdoor gym is located next to the playground at Färjenäsparken’s entrance towards Astris gata. The outdoor gym is a so-called log gym with eight different larch wood tools, where you can strength train your entire body. There is also a wooden deck for jumping, stretching and recovery.
Gjutegården (Östra gjutegården):
Gjutegården’s outdoor gym consists of three machines located adjacent to the playground and activity area with a gravel field. The outdoor gym is adapted to suit an older target group. The outdoor gym is part of “hälsorundan Askim”.
Gårdstensdalen (Gårdsten park):
The equipment is made of wood and provides a versatile workout. Here are: Jumping jacks, back lifts, dips/low bar, push-ups, arm walk, shoulder press, chest press, battleropes and standing rowing.
Hammarparken outdoor gym:
A smaller outdoor gym with five metal machines where you use your body weight as resistance.
Herkulesparken (Hisingsgatan/Herkulesgatan)
A smaller outdoor gym with three metal machines where you train using your body weight as resistance. There is also a table tennis table.
Hisingsparken/Tuve outdoor gym:
The gym's ground surfaces are adapted to make it easier for those who need to be able to get around with a wheelchair or stroller. The gym equipment consists only of fixed equipment. Exercises: arm swings, pullups, core exercises, step-ups, stretch post for your own rubber bands and push-ups/dips.
Hjällbovallen (Knattens väg):
An outdoor gym with four wood and metal machines.
Hålekärrsbacken (Slottsskogen Plikta):
The outdoor gym is located in Slottsskogen above Plikta’s playground. This outdoor gym focuses on training with your own body weight and therefore has no equipment with moving parts. In total there are twelve machines and a small stage, for example for group training with a leader.
Härlanda tjärn (Ormeslättsstigen) :
Natural gym with four machines in wood and metal.
Jämmerberget (Kärra)
Along the nature trail on Jämmerberget there is a small nature gym with metal equipment.
Kastanjeallén (Turkosgatan 47):
Kastanjeallén’s outdoor gym is a small outdoor gym with three machines located adjacent to the playground and activity area with boules, tennis, table tennis.
Keillers Park:
An outdoor gym with metal machines. Fixed parts for training with own body weight.
Krumeluren (Backa Röd's local sports ground)
The gym consists of six different training machines with adjustable weights and a crossfit training stand where you can do both static and dynamic training on the different modules. There is the possibility to choose focus areas such as abs, arms, shoulders and legs. You will also find two ping pong tables, an obstacle course and a climbing wall.
Kvibergs Park’s outdoor gym:
Kvibergs Park’s outdoor gym is located in Kvibergs Park, beyond the Beach Center adjacent to the jogging trails. The outdoor gym is a log gym with ten different wooden machines where you can strength train your entire body. There is also a wooden plate for stretching and recovery. Equipment available here: Arm walk, push-up, shoulder press, balance walk, battlerope, dips, dips against bar/wall, squats, body lifts, back pulls, handstand lifts (chins), sit-ups and jumping jacks.
Kärra Centrumparken:
An outdoor gym with seven metal machines for training with your own body weight.
Landerigatan:
A smaller outdoor gym with metal equipment. Here you can do sit-ups, rotation, leverage, chins and dips,
Linjespringarens väg, just north of Angered's Arena
An outdoor gym with seven metal machines. Here you can stretch, cross trainer, rotation, chins, sit-ups and chest press.
Mandolingatan (Positivparken south)
An outdoor gym with wooden and metal equipment. There is a small obstacle course, standing rowing, shoulder press, dips, sit-ups and chins.
Marklandsgatan
An outdoor gym with twelve machines with both fixed and moving parts for training with own body weight as well as with mechanical resistance.
Melongatan:
The Melongatan outdoor gym offers body weight training, more traditional resistance training machines, and an obstacle course in the playground next to the outdoor gym.
Mossen, Johanneberg
The gym consists of six different machines where you can train your whole body using your body weight as resistance.
Norra parken (Lillekärr Norra):
An obstacle course with several different machines for training with body weight as resistance.
Plikta (North)
At Plikta’s playground in Slottsskogen, there is an outdoor gym with eight machines for training both with your own body weight and with resistance. The equipment is also adapted for more senior users.
Positivparken (North):
A smaller outdoor gym with three machines. Pendulum machine, shoulder machine and chest press.
Ruddalen outdoor gym:
The outdoor gym has thirteen different wooden exercise equipment where you can strength train your entire body. There is also a so-called training module or cage where you can perform a variety of exercises with your own body weight. Equipment available here: Push-ups, shoulder press, balance walk, battle rope, dips against a bar/wall, squats, deadlifts, back pulls, back lifts, sit-ups and jumps.
Sannaparken:
Sannaparken's outdoor gym offers station training with equipment but also contains stretch tires and jump-up stumps for more flexible training. There are large grass areas around the gym to move around on. Equipment available here: Shoulder press, squats, push-ups/rib chair, battleropes, back lift, sit-up ramp, pole for exercise bands, jump-up stumps, stretch tires, balance beam, combined dips and barbell.

The gym's ground surfaces are adapted to make it easier for those who need to be able to get around with a wheelchair or stroller. The gym equipment consists only of fixed equipment. Exercises: arm swings, pullups, core exercises, step-ups, stretch post for your own rubber bands and push-ups/dips.
Skatås outdoor gym:
The outdoor gym has seven different exercise machines made of steel and wood where you can strength train your entire body. Equipment available here: Push-up, push-up, shoulder press, balance walk, battlerope, dips, dips against bar/wall, squats, deadlifts, chin-ups, sit-ups and pole.
Spektrumgatan:
Small outdoor gym with three metal machines. Leg pendulum, chest press and back press.
Spinettplatsen:
Spinettplatsen has an outdoor gym with six machines.
Stuxbergsparken:
The gym's ground surfaces are adapted to make it easier for those who need to be able to get around with a wheelchair or stroller. The gym equipment consists only of fixed equipment. Exercises: arm swings, pullups, core exercises, step-ups, stretch post for your own rubber bands and push-ups/dips.
Svarte mosse:
A natural gym with four wooden and metal machines.
Tanneskärsgatan:
A natural gym with six wooden and metal machines.
Teleskopgatan:
A small outdoor gym with three machines for sit-ups, push-ups and chest press.
Torpadammen (Högsbohöjd):
Outdoor gym with wooden equipment where you use your body weight, as well as the weight of the equipment as resistance. Here you can train your whole body.
Valhalla (Burgårdsstråket):
Outdoor gym with two metal machines with moving parts.
Vättlefjäll:
A natural gym with four exercise machines made of wood and metal. The gym is adjacent to the jogging track and is close to Vättlestugan.
Studiegången:
Outdoor gym with four machines to train the whole body.
